Conclusions

Mobile wireless communications and their associated applications have become the norm for interaction in the business community and among young people in general. The otherwise distractive effect of multiple simultaneous interactive communications can instead be productively channelled into the creation and development of dynamic learning environments which empower both student and lecturer. The cultural lag between the use of "no strings" communications "on the street" and their adoption within traditional learning environments can be avoided by inviting the imaginative contributions of young people which exploit the potential inherent in the wireless environment and enable Pinocchio to realise full liberation.
